Why Hollywood Boulevard Week?

Image
Hollywood Boulevard Week at Sugar Bay aimed at giving children the opportunity to feel like a celebrity so that they are not intimidated by the elite lifestyle. We encouraged kids to explore the many dimensions of their talents and make use of their untamed imaginations without any restriction. This holiday camp, we eliminated the barrier built by judgement and class and created an environment where your child could explore and showcase their talents and dreams without being intimidated by what the world will think of them, but with the predetermination and knowledge of “When you do what you love, you will be fulfilled.” There is no such word as “Impossible” at Sugar Bay. The word itself teaches “I'M-POSSIBLE”. Our glamorous all week 5-star activities has really revealed some outstanding talent. Most of which, we bet parents never knew existed. Yes parents, your kids are super talented!    Do you know that Charlize Theron is the only Sout...

Flashback: December Fever at the Bay!

Image
Wow! December sure dazzled us with an overload of fun! In fact, campers were having so much fun here at Sugar Bay that we extended a few of our 7-day camps into 10-day camps so that campers were able to get an even bigger fun fix. As always, each unique theme added an extra level of excitement to an already jam-packed week. For those of you who weren't able to join us this December, here are the highlights: New Places, Sights & Sounds: The Wonder of Travel Our first holiday camp started off with a trip of epic proportions during our Seven Wonders of the World week. Campers had the chance to visit Italy, China, India and many more as they enjoyed the experience of what these countries had to offer. Juniors and Intermediates were surprised by a festive Carnival Night, where the hall was transformed into a colourful carnival complete with Sumo Wrestling and a Mechanical Surfboard. For Seniors, it was time for a cook-off at El Nino's foo...

Happy New Year!

We have finally arrived in 2015! And apparently we are lucky to be alive... Prophet Efrain Rodriguez declared that an asteroid would cause an earthquake of point 12 on the Richter Scale. The resulting tsunami was gonna take out hundreds of thousands of people. This event should have happened at some point before 2014 was over... Yeah, that didn't happen – awkward! Major fail... we're not complaining though. Our waves are looking pretty normal, so in other words, they're AWESOME! This is Liezl, signing out.

7 Wonders of the World Week

What an amazing holiday camp we had last week: 7 days = 7 Wonders of the World = AWESOMENESS! I took a stroll around the camp and saw happy children, crazy counselors and smiles all around. I, an office dweller - lathered completely with sun screen (I might have looked like a badly iced cake), armed with my cool shades and visor cap – dared to leave the airconditioned office and step into the wild. And it was amazing - the atmosphere was positively electric! I asked a few kids what their favourite Sugar Bay experience was, and the votes are in – the winner is... the Fire Show!!! Oh, don't worry, we told them not to try this at home... or at school... or next door. We were pretty clear about that. Hot topic! I must say that every single child mentioned how awesome it is to meet new people and make new friends. Aww, sweet. And that's me. Office dweller, past Transvaaler, smeared with a thick layer of sunscreen, signing out of cyber-world and jumping...
