Well the city pretty much doesn't feel anyone around this time of year when you reminisce all the hard work and dedication you've put into it. I think we can all agree that now we're in the mood to take a break and soak up the sun before welcoming 2016 which will probably go by just as fast as this year did. How do we spend this break? This week we were joined by 120 grade 5 - 7 campers from Charlton Vos College all the way from Pretoria for their fun and bonding tour. Summer is almost here and you know that you can't spell summer without Sugar Bay. This year's summer at Sugar Bay promises to be bigger and better so you do not want to miss our awesome December camps. Hollywood Boulevard Week ( 5 - 11 December ) Lights, Camera, Action - Welcome to Hollywood. The land of the rich and famous, and a home to actors, musicians and dancers. Sugar Bay is rolling out the red carpet for celebrities who'll be joining us for Hollywood Blvd Week. Some of the activities our celebrities will be doing this week include, but are not limited to: Singing, dancing, drama and DJ classes to earn a star on the Sugar Bay walk of fame. The final week of holiday camp saw our campers enjoy out of this world Wipe Out challenges. We also celebrated Sugar Bay's 14th Birthday , which only proved that Sugar Bay campers do know how to party in style. Below are some of the week's highlights: Monday The first day of camp was a buzz of excitement, campers spent their days at the beach enjoying beach activities, bonding with their friends, counselors   as well as creating new friendships and memories. The day wouldn't be complete without a delicious picnic later. Campers had a fun evening playing a game of Minute to Wipe Out, and enjoying the Wipe Out obstacle course. Tuesday Day 2 of camp was a frenzy of excitement as campers enjoyed an adventure filled day of beach activities like , kayaking, surfing and SUP (Stand Up Paddle Boarding) . Well, get ready to say hello to SPACE JUMP; the latest addition to our family of super cool activities. Birthday week is coming up and what's a celebration without the ultimate birthday gift? After 14 years of existence we thought we should take to new heights and spoil ourselves and campers with a massive bungee trampoline. Over and above the zillion free-choice activities, we have added a little something extra. So while you contemplate on the king swing, high ropes or rock climbing; we thought we should give you a push in the right direction when it comes to choosing the bungee trampoline.   At Sugar Bay, the sweetest memories are those wonderful recollections we have of the best moments of our lives. These are often created when we allow ourselves to just BE. This seemed to be the motto for these vibey young campers from Thembalisha Preparatory School. Tucked away in the north-eastern corner of the Kingdom of Swaziland in the Lubombo Lowveld, this school is neatly situated on the Royal Swazi Sugar Corporation Estate and a home to the most energetic little people. Sugar Bay had an awesome taste of Swaziland as we welcomed our Camp buddies on the 26th of May 2015 for their school camp on our sunny Bay. The atmosphere was immediately filled with a cheerful spirit as these energetic Campers went about exploring what was to be their new home for the next 3 days. Tweet, a newbie staff member, shares her experience about her first impressions of Sugar Bay. Like many new campers, I didn't know what to expect for my first time at Sugar Bay. I was excited and scared at the same time, and an unexpected delay had me freaked out, since I was expected to arrive at 9am. All of that changed the minute I arrived. I felt like a kid in a candy shop and there were so many cool things that caught my eye as I made my way to the reception area. I couldn't wait to take photos and post on my Facebook and Instagram accounts. I was introduced to the amazing Sugar Bay team and when I say amazing, I literally mean the team is just too sweet but the counselors have to be my favourite. The few counselors that I can remember are Tropika, Pepsi, Veggie, Iron Brew, Gummy Bear and Freestyle. Yes, I think there is a Freestyle at camp. If I were given the chance, I would honestly go back to school just so I could experience the epic time children have here...

It's time for a fleeting glimpse at all the fun that's been going on this week at Sugar Bay: At Monday's Foamy Auction, juniors had 30 seconds to trans foam their teammates into characters to impress the judges, a difficult task since those members of the Royal Foam Family can be pretty fickle. As you can see, campers went all out to make an impression! Of course, cabin pictures are always a really serious affair where no silliness is allowed. Fear of heights... what's that? Trying new things and overcoming obstacles is what camp is all about! What would Foam Party Week be without some epic slip 'n sliding?  Funny stories from Lucky are always a treat.  This face says "I'm free, there's foam and I'm loving it!" And the best part?
