Best of Sugar Bay Memories 2015

It's been another wonderful year at Sugar Bay! So much sunshine, so much sea, so much sand and so much Sweet Summer! We can proudly say that we've had more enthusiastic campers, more dedicated counselors, more adventurous schools, more exciting themed camps... but most importantly, more unforgettable memories with all of you amazing people this year! With the new year arriving sooner than the break of dawn... We've decided to recap some of our unforgettable memories we've shared with all our campers and schools during 2015. Time for Thai and Ridiculousness at Sugar Bay!

School may be around the corner, but we aren't ready to give up our holiday spirit quite just yet! We have two awesome and fun-filled holiday camps planned for the month of January, and we're really excited about welcoming in another year with another group of enthusiastic campers and another exciting camp theme! Thailand Week: 27 December – 3 January   We hope everybody is ready to jump right out of their comfort zones as we change countries for a week and turn Sugar Bay into Thailand! We can't wait to take the campers on an adventure into exotic territory and explore an entirely new culture with a range of exciting activities aimed at broadening our horizons! Highlights: Durban Harbour Boat Cruise Excursion: Thailand is big on beautiful scenery especially where the ocean is concerned, and so are we here in Durban! D.I.Y Dreamy Donut Pillows

  Here at Sugar Bay we love delicious donuts and everything to do with dunking and devouring them! In fact, we are so delirious about donuts that we took our donut addiction to the next level by showing you how to make your very own D.I.Y Dreamy Donut Pillows! Without the issue of sewing them together!    Let's do donuts!  Materials Needed: Metallic Satin Apparel Fabric (In the colour of your favourite donut flavour) White/Brown/Any Pastel Coloured Fabric (For your frosting) Scraps of Fabric in various colours (For the sprinkles) Scissors Hot Glue & Glue Gun Pillow Stuffing (Foam) Step 1 :  Using a pencil, hand draw two large circles on the satin fabric. You can use a large bowl and a smaller one for the centre to trace out the shape. Cut them out carefully. Step 2: Place the fabric for the frosting on the traced donut fabric and cut into a shape you desire or into a smaller circle that fits the donut. Ste

What's behind all the decorative designs and different donuts? What does your favourite donut say about you? Donuts with lots of Sprinkles: Your desire to have donuts with sprinkles makes you a go-getter! You’re always on the move, whether it be with work, school, or family events. Let's create Minion Mallows!

Let the Minion Madness Begin! It's Minions Week at Sugar Bay Holiday Camp so it's time to get your “Gru” on! And we're getting our “Gru” on by showing you how to create these adorable and delicious Despicable Me Minion Mallows! You will need: 12 large marshmallows 1 slab of white chocolate melted 2 teaspoons of yellow food colouring 1 cup of icing sugar 3 blue fruit-roll-ups 5 teaspoons black food colouring Icing gun/piping bag 24 white Mentos sweets 12 sosatie sticks Directions:   1. Melt white chocolate in a bowl over boiling water. 2. Add yellow food colouring to white chocolate and mix well. 3. Stick Marshmallow into pointed side of sosatie stick. 4. Dip the Marsh mallow into the yellow melted chocolate and allow to cool in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.  5. Slice blue fruit roll-ups into 2 centimeter strips. Press strip around the bottom portion of the marshmallo
