"Tea- making is a form of meditation for me, nothing is on my mind except the smell of the herbs, the different textures and the outcome of the different herb combinations." His love for tea began with a birthday tradition his mom started, where he found himself receiving a cup of tea on the night before and the morning of his birthday. "My mom always wanted to make me the last cup of tea of the age I was, and the first cup of the age I was turning. I can safely say my mom is my inspiration when it comes to tea-making." He shared. After half a decade of steadily steering our Sugar Bay ship, we bid farewell to a darling duo; Sugar Bay's Tape & Paris.  Thus, we announce the name of the new Captain who will be steering our ship. Former Arts & Crafts Pro Counselor (PC), Auror a ! Our affectionate and gentle Aurora was promoted to Camp Programmer & acting Head Counselor. The Camp Programmer is responsible for the planning and organization of daily programs in all areas of camp (activities, meals, décor, etc). The Programmer also works alongside other staff members in the planning and facilitation of general camp functions. She had been under Paris's wing for almost a year and was finally given the opportunity to spread her wings and fly. And flying high is exactly what she's been doing as she carefully plans and programmes the activities scheduled at camp every week so meticulously.  With big shoes to fill in h er newly appointed positions, we are very confident that “Rory” will...

This week in our Sugar Bay Get to Know series, we get to know Sesame!   Named after the healthy seed and not after the Sesame Street Muppets, Sesame has been a counselor at Sugar Bay for 6 months.   Sesame, or Ses as many would call her, really enjoys stand-up-paddle-boarding (sup), space jump and king swing at Sugar Bay. She told us these were her absolute favourite activities at camp.    The other thing Sesame really loves at camp are the Chicken Schwarmas.    Ses described herself in 3 words as “Happy, Giving and always Willing!”    Sweet Ses, very sweet.  Sesame is quite a funny girl. He’s been a counselor at Sugar Bay for 6 months now and is the King of Body-Boarding…  Not sure why…. But they call him; BOUNCE! Maybe it’s because of the spring in his step or the way he bounces back on his board every time a wave knocks him down.  But yip, he’s Bounce, and a pretty cool body-boarding Pro Counselor (PC) he is indeed.  It’s no secret that Bounce’s favourite Sugar Bay activity is body-boarding… How else would he earn the title as “Body-Boarding PC”? Yes, Bounce is very passionate about body-boarding. He loves it when the sun rises at Sugar Bay so that he can hit the beach and do what he does best. He's a sporty dude who enjoys beach bread, wall climb and of course, surfing!
