Fire-spinning has become a sensation at the Bay with our campers delighting in performances put on by our counselors every final camp night. The tradition has become so popular, our campers have joined in the shows and have brought new tricks to the game. Before you start spinning with fire, you use poi to practice your routine. Poi originates from the Maori people of New Zealand and has spread across the globe. Poi is the Maori word for 'ball' on a cord. Maori women used Poi to keep their hands flexible for weaving and men for strength and coordination during battle. The practice was also seen in beautiful dance ceremonies where the poi was put on fire and phenomenal images emerged as they swung rhythmically. A lot of people associate summer with fitness, but finding workout clothes you like can prove to be a mission. So why not create your own workout shirt with these 7 easy steps. What you will need: An old t-shirt scissors     1. First you'll need an old t-shirt, preferably a bigger size and some scissors. 2. Cut off the neckline, the bottom hem, and the sleeves. When you’re cutting the sleeves, cut down from the shoulder and curve below the armpit seam.  3. Determine how low you want the  neckline to be, and cut off the extra. 4. Now flip the shirt over and cut out the back to make the narrow racer back, curving in from the armpits. Then cut a deep V from the back neckline. 5. Using the excess from when you cut off the bottom hem, stretch it until it is a long piece of fabric, and knot it at the top of the racer back, a little above the bottom of the V. 6. From the 11th till the 17th of December 2015 is Minion Week at Sugar Bay, and what better way to celebrate minion week than with your very own Stuart Minion? To help us get into the minion spirit we found this cool Stuart Minion pen holder which you can make in the comfort of your own home by using old household products.
