Review: December 2016/January 2017 Holiday Camps

Image
We had four awesome holiday camps these past December/January school holidays at Sugar Bay Resort. From underwater adventures, to a trip back in time, we did it all! Finding Dory Week: 9 - 16 December 2016   We went on an extraordinary underwater adventure this week with 171 campers, all in pursuit to find Dory. Our camp portrayed the “under the sea” and “California Beach” theme fantastically with floating fish, colourful coral and blue waves decorated all over our main hall. Some of the highlights of this week were the “Beach Party Night” and “A School of Fish Talent Show”. The campers also went on an exciting excursion to Ushaka Marine World, an aquarium and water park where they got to see the special “Finding Nemo/Finding Dory” tank.    Have a look at our album on Facebook featuring more pictures from Finding Dory week.    Candy Land Week: 16 – 23 December 2016   Sugar Bay got super sweet during Candy Land week and ...

Review: August/September Holiday Camps

Splash Birthday week: 28 August - 4 September   Sugar Bay splashed into September as we celebrated our fifteenth birthday with a brand new edition to the family – three wonderful waterslides!    Our Splash Birthday themed holiday camp was definitely the highlight of the August/September holidays this year. Our campers had a ball preparing camp’s birthday celebration with us, as they were even involved in the cake-making and decorating for the grand party. We celebrated in style on the last day of camp with our camp directors, staff, and campers. Our directors also had the opportunity to initiate the waterslides by experiencing the adrenaline rush for the first time ever!    We really took every opportunity to go all out with our Splash theme.  We played “Splashing the Cash”, and got messy “splashing with paint” and even had a “Splashy Fen Party” at uShaka Marine World’s Wet n Wild Water Park during our excursion. Sugar Bay’s fifteen...

March 2016: Adventure Time Week: 20–27 March 2016   The first school holiday of 2016 commenced with an astounding Adventure Time themed holiday camp. Every day was turned into an adventure for our campers just as it were in the cartoon network series, Adventure Time, with Finn the human and Jake the dog. Our campers also went on a Beemo (the little blue gaming box) inspired excursion to the gaming arcade in the Gateway Theatre of shopping. Adventure Time week ended with a burst of colour, with a Rainicorn colour festival. The Maze Runner Week: 27 March–3 April 2016   Before campers realized it, they were waking up in the Glade. Suddenly, all our adventurers were transformed into Maze Runners and had to escape the gruesome Grievers all week long. The experience got real when our Maze Runners were taken on a camp-out and had to survive a night in the maze. They also had an exciting excursion to the Crocodile Creek in Balli...
