DIY: Kaa – The Jungle Book

Image
Trust in me, Just in me, Shut your eyes and Trust in Me. You can sleep… Safe and sound, Knowing I, Am around.  We all were certainly creped out and almost hypnotized by the dramatic scene where Kaa does a performance of his very own number “Trust in me” in The Jungle Book.  As much as he can be creepy, The Jungle Book could never be the same without Kaa, the Indian Rock Python.  In celebration of the Jungle Book week at Sugar Bay, we’re inspired to create a Kaa paper craft. It’s so simple, and oh so easy. Oh, and not as creepy as Kaa himself. DIY: Kaa Craft - The Jungle Book   You will need:  •    Dark Brown Card Paper •    Crème Card Paper •    A pair of Scissors •    Glue •    A Pencil •    Brown Koki Pen •    Pink Koki Pen •    Googly Eyes Directions: 1.    Draw a spiral on the cr...

It’s our final holiday camp for the July holidays… It’s Jungle Book week at Sugar Bay! We have turned Sugar Bay into an adventure filled jungle full of little man cubs’ waiting to explore what the wild side has to offer.  The new Jungle Book 3D motion picture just aired on the big screen a month ago. It has brought the 1967 classic back to life decades later and has managed to become the latest topic for discussion.  In celebration of this remarkable Disney children’s story and Jungle Book week at Sugar Bay, here are: 5 Things You Didn't Know About The Jungle Book: 1. Have you walked into your local Spar and seen this yet?   If you have, and you've done nothing about it... What are you waiting for? Spar and Sugar Bay have collaborated to bring to you... The Spar Future Warriors Conference 2016    The SPAR Future Warriors Conference is part of SPAR’s very exciting programme empowering children to protect the environment and ensure that sustainability drives the way they operate. The conference arose from SPAR wanting to establish a strong presence in the sustainability arena and being the keepers of the future. This is why focusing on children was a natural starting point for them. When Sugar Bay asked why they have chosen to host this competition especially for children/teenagers in the respective age group? Sasha Sankar, Spar's Sustainability Assistant said: “In previous years, we found that children within this age group tend to absorb more from t...

Review: March/April/May Holiday Camps

March 2016: Adventure Time Week: 20–27 March 2016   The first school holiday of 2016 commenced with an astounding Adventure Time themed holiday camp. Every day was turned into an adventure for our campers just as it were in the cartoon network series, Adventure Time, with Finn the human and Jake the dog. Our campers also went on a Beemo (the little blue gaming box) inspired excursion to the gaming arcade in the Gateway Theatre of shopping. Adventure Time week ended with a burst of colour, with a Rainicorn colour festival. The Maze Runner Week: 27 March–3 April 2016   Before campers realized it, they were waking up in the Glade. Suddenly, all our adventurers were transformed into Maze Runners and had to escape the gruesome Grievers all week long. The experience got real when our Maze Runners were taken on a camp-out and had to survive a night in the maze. They also had an exciting excursion to the Crocodile Creek in Balli...
