Create your own Stuart minion

From the 11th till the 17th of December 2015 is Minion Week at Sugar Bay, and what better way to celebrate minion week than with your very own Stuart Minion? To help us get into the minion spirit we found this cool Stuart Minion pen holder which you can make in the comfort of your own home by using old household products.

What we'll need:

  • 2 Litre Plastic Bottle
  • Scissors
  • Paint (Blue, Black, Yellow, Brown and White)
  • Paintbrush
  • Hot Glue Gun ( Ask mommy and daddy to help you with this)
  • Black Ribbon
  • Baby Food Jar Lid
  •

How to make your Stuart pen holder:

1.Cut the top section off a clean, empty 2-Liter plastic bottle. You will want to use paint that works on all surfaces. Please note that these paints will stain clothing so please wear something to cover up. After the 1st coat is finished, let it dry and then add a second coat of yellow paint.

2. In between the drying time for the two coats, make a minion goggle/eye by painting a baby food jar lid. Paint the white part of the eye leaving a small strip at the very bottom. Paint the strip with yellow. Add a brown painted circle to the center. Repeat these steps if necessary. Paint a black dot inside the brown circle when it dries.

3.Paint the bottom area blue to represent the blue overalls that minions wear.

4.Cut a piece of black ribbon and hot glue it around the head area (or use black electrical tape or paint it on). Hot glue the eye on top of that.

5.Draw a mouth under the eye and add the black buttons on the overalls. Wait for it to dry and you can start putting your pens and markers.
If you already have a pen holder or more material left,  you can also use it mum's plants(see below). However you use it is totally up to you. Bring it along for Minion week to show your peers and counselors your amazing work of art.
