Let's take it back to the beach...

“Let's take it back to the beach... Where we were young and carefree...
This is how it should be...Said the city don't feel me...”

Said the city don't feel you?

Well the city pretty much doesn't feel anyone around this time of year when you reminisce all the hard work and dedication you've put into it. I think we can all agree that now we're in the mood to take a break and soak up the sun before welcoming 2016 which will probably go by just as fast as this year did.

How do we spend this break? Why not take it back to the beach and head over to Sugar Bay for some chilled fun in the sun!

Here's something you should know about what a trip down to the beach in Summer can do for you:

Sunshine is a great source of Vitamin D!

Did you know that people get 80 to 90% of their daily dose of Vitamin D from sun exposure? According to Harvard Medical School, most natural and substantial source of vitamin depends on how much UVB light gets through to you. Vitamin D is essential for bone health, creates healthy skin and may even improve mental health.

Sand is a natural exfoliant!

There are between 3000 and 7000 nerve endings in each foot that awaken whenever your feet hit the sand. Wet sand acts as a natural exfoliator and peels off dead skin cells from your feet, leaving them feeling renewed and much softer.

A trip to the beach could assist with rheumatoid arthritis patients!

The minerals in the ocean could help reduce symptoms for patients with rheumatoid arthritis. According to a study, patients who used bath salts made from the Dead Sea minerals also experienced fewer symptoms.

Sunlight decreases depression!

It's been scientifically proven that sunshine makes us happier! A study conducted by the Baker Heart Research Institute in Melbourne, Australia found that the amount of sunlight received directly affected peoples moods. With increased sunlight exposure, levels of serotonin increased, having a positive effect on factors such as stress, sleep and appetite.

Sea water preserves elasticity of skin!

The ocean is full of anti-aging minerals that can counter the decline of your skins elasticity, so you should treat yourself to a little salt water every now and then.

A day at the beach will get you going!

Going to the beach often ends up in participating in physical activities such as swimming, jogging, surfing, playing beach volleyball or football and just walking through the sand. Did you know that walking on sand involves 1.6-2.5 times more mechanical work than walking on a hard surface at the same speed?

Decrease your stress levels at sea...

Take a technology free escape to the beach! A short walk on the beach can decrease your stress levels and inevitably help you de-stress.

I bet you have learnt so much in these few minutes and you already know where you will be spending your Summer vacation! So come get your vitamin D, exfoliate your skin, dump your depression, get physical at sea, stay younger, de-stress and come make memorable memories here with us at Sugar Bay!
