Review: June/July 2017 Holiday Camps

Sugar Bay’s June/July holiday camps certainly warmed up these winter school holidays. We hosted four fantastic themed holiday camps and accomodated a total of 231 kids at camp.

Smurf’s – The Lost Village week: 25 June-2 July

We began warming up for the winter holidays by going on an adventure with the adorable blue little creatures, the Smurfs. Twenty-two campers explored the Lost Village with us this week. The kids enjoyed many fun activities integrated around the theme such as; Smurf Speed-Dating Date Night, Blue Carnival Night, Smurf Spa & Sports Day, Smurf Party Night and Papa Smurf Show Night. They also went on an adventurous camp out in The Smurf’s Lost Village, where they camped around a warm bonfire and played exciting games.

The kids enjoyed many fun activities integrated around the theme such as; a Beach Festival, Ultimate Bay Watch Championship, Mister/Miss Bay Watch Show, Beach Party Night and a Pool Party. They also went on an exciting excursion to Ushaka Marine World Aquarium and Themed Water Park, where they went water sliding and viewed the beautiful marine life on display.

Camp was mouthwatering this week and we had seventy-eight pizza-loving campers who helped us share and celebrate our love for pizza. The kids enjoyed many fun activities integrated around the theme such as; Pizza-making classes, fantastic food fights, taste bud testing sessions, pizza parties and a Master-Chef themed pizza class. They also went on an exciting excursion to the Durban Beachfront and Harbour, where they went on a boat cruise, viewed the beautiful marine life and ate lots of pizza.
