DIY: Kaa – The Jungle Book

Trust in me,
Just in me,
Shut your eyes
and Trust in Me.

You can sleep…

Safe and sound,
Knowing I,
Am around.

We all were certainly creped out and almost hypnotized by the dramatic scene where Kaa does a performance of his very own number “Trust in me” in The Jungle Book.

As much as he can be creepy, The Jungle Book could never be the same without Kaa, the Indian Rock Python.

In celebration of the Jungle Book week at Sugar Bay, we’re inspired to create a Kaa paper craft. It’s so simple, and oh so easy. Oh, and not as creepy as Kaa himself.

DIY: Kaa Craft - The Jungle Book

You will need:

•    Dark Brown Card Paper
•    Crème Card Paper
•    A pair of Scissors
•    Glue
•    A Pencil
•    Brown Koki Pen
•    Pink Koki Pen
•    Googly Eyes

Directions:

1.    Draw a spiral on the crème coloured card paper.
2.    Using a pair of scissors, cut out the shape.
3.    With your pencil, make spots like Kaa’s on the dark brown card paper and cut them out.
4.    Stick the spots on the crème spiral card with the glue.
5.    Now draw Kaa’s face on the extra bits of your crème card paper.
6.    Use your brown koki pen to draw his lips.
7.    Use the pink koki pen to draw Kaa’s tongue.
8.    Stick the googly eyes on Kaa’s face as his eyes.
9.    Stick the completed face to the spiral body.

Cool Tip:

•    Attach a piece of string to Kaa’s head and hang him from your ceiling. It will appear as if Kaa is spiraling down to you.

Now you may hiss away and sing Kaa’s song!
