Get to know – Aurora

She's Sugar Bay's Arts and Crafts PC (Pro Counselor) and, one of the most creative and gentle spirits around camp...She is Aurora! 

 



And name well suited we must say... She's as kind, loving and caring as the Disney Princess Aurora herself. Aurora has been a counselor at Sugar Bay for only 5 months but has worked hard and earned her position as a PC. 

 



Aurora's favourite activities are making friendship bracelets and kayaking.



Aurora or “Rori” as many call her has an obsession, she calls it “a healthy obsession with unicorns”.

A unicorn-unicorn or a uni corn? 

 



Not sure which one she was talking about.



However, we have our reservations concerning how healthy this obsession is. Especially since she answered this way when we asked her this question:

“If you could be any animal, what would you be?”

Her reply:

“I feel like you already know the answer... A unicorn duh!”



As if that wasn't unicorn enough...

When we asked her if she had a superpower, what would it be, and why?

Her answer:

“Rainbow powers! Somewhat to a unicorn. Unicorns make people happy and I like making people happy.”

Okay Rori-corn! Okay!



Other than her “so-called healthy unicorn obsession”. Aurora described herself in 3 words as “Bubbly, motivated and dependable”.

 

Her most memorable camp was during Adventure Time week when she got to work side by side with her sister Alaska. Adventure Time is also Aurora's favourite TV show.

Rori concluded her conversation with us by describing her role as a counselor here at Sugar Bay. This is what our Princess Aurora had to say:



“I'm really easy to connect with. Most kids just want to have fun and have someone they can trust to talk about all the stuff going on in their life. I like to think I'm that type of person they can talk to openly. Also, I am kind of funny too.”

Restricting the kids from being engrossed in technology can be very challenging. The best means of keeping them away from their lit screens all the time is by motivating them to participate in engaging activities.
