Get to know - Pecan
No, he
didn’t arrive during Peanuts week, but he was named after a nut. We
call him Pecan!
Pecan
has been a counselor at Sugar Bay for 8 weeks now and we must add,
the campers are nuts about Pecan! Pecan is our Paint ball PC (Pro
Counselor) and loves paint ball to bits.
He
says the best part about his job is seeing the smiles on all the
kids’ faces while they’re participating in all the activities
they enjoy. Pecan says what he loves most is that the kids arrive
here as strangers and when they leave camp, they leave as friends.
Pecan’s
favourite camp meal is fish and chips. He says, “It’s the best
fish and chips I’ve ever eaten in my life!”
If he
could have one super power, it would be for him to stop time, simply
to savour the best moments in life.
Describing
himself in three words, Pecan’s choices were “Tall, outgoing and
energetic”.
If he
could be an animal, he says he would choose to be a wolf. Why?
“Because wolves are team players. They fight for the ones they love
and for themselves,” he said with a smirk on his face. Smart answer
Pecan, smart answer.
Pecan
admitted that he gets the inspiration to be the best counselor he can
be from his fellow couselors, Lollipop and Sangoma. “They are both
such good counselors. They’re always doing their best and are
always willing to help”, he said.
