Sugar Bay celebrates 15th Birthday in style!

  Sugar Bay turned fifteen this year! And we did what we always do every year at the end of August - party & celebrate! This 15 th birthday at Sugar Bay was a big one, simply because our camp was gifted with one of the most extravagant additions…    Waterslides! It's a Sugar Bay tradition for camp to get better and better as it gets older.    Last year we added bungee trampolines to our children's paradise, and this year we've added not, one, not two, but three waterslides to the Sugar Bay family! Get to Know – Ping & Pong

Sugar Bay has their very own pair of identical twins. We call this Sugar Bay Duo Ping & Pong!    Just like the game, Ping-Pong, one would be incomplete without the other.    Ping & Pong have been counselors at Sugar Bay for roughly 6 months. Sugar Bay has turned 15 years old, and we’re celebrating big this September! We’ve got our waterslides up and running and we’re ready to party on. We just celebrated in style this past weekend, with cake, balloons, lots of splashing and our official opening of the waterslides. In celebration of our colourful Splash Birthday week, we’ve decided to share an awesome rainbow cake recipe with you.    DIY: Rainbow Cake   Preparation time: 60 Minutes Ingredients: For the cake: 350g Self-raising flour 3tsp Baking powder 350g Soft unsalted butter 350g Caster sugar 6 Large free range eggs 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract 40ml Semi-skimmed milk Gel food colouring (Rainbow colours) For the Icing: 100g butter, soft 600g icing sugar, sifted Instructions:   For the cake: Preheat your oven to 170 degrees. Nitro Circus week – Xtreme Motorcycle Exhibit

    Our campers are having an adrenaline-filled experience this Nitro Circus week at Sugar Bay. On 26 August 2016 (Thursday), our campers were treated to an extreme sports expedition complete with 360 degree bike rollovers and 3.5 meter high undercut ledges, from the Le Riche brothers.    Brent, also known as “ One-Wheel- l e-Riche ”, and Bruce, also known as “ One-Hip-Wonde r”, never ceased to entertain the crowd. The audience were at the edge of their seats and full of fascination as the brothers exhibited some enthralling tricks with their motorcycles.    The setup and atmosphere was absolutely incredible and had our whole camp embracing the outdoors on a sunshine-filled afternoon. Campers received an in depth breakdown on body position, techniques, approach, line reading and the theory behind the science of extreme motorcycling. 5 Fun Facts – Nitro Circus

It's Nitro Circus Week at Sugar Bay and we've gone all out and extravagant to bring an all extreme sports event to camp! For those of you wondering what Nitro Circus is about… Nitro Circus is an "action sport collective" led by Travis Pastrana, featuring his friends and him traveling around the world riding dirt bikes, base jumping, and performing stunts. It has spawned a tour, a second television series based on the tour, and a 3D feature film. Here are 5 fun facts about Nitro Circus:  1. Nitro Circus started off as a television show Nitro Circus started off in 2006 as a miniseries on FUEL TV. It soon grew into a reality television show on MTV that featured people performing various dangerous stunts in 2009.  2.   Origami is the art of paper folding, which is often associated with the Japanese culture. And because we are hosting Japan week at Sugar Bay, and having a few specialized Arts & Crafts classes based on origami, we have decided to share a very simple start to the art of paper folding with you.    Try out this quick and easy DIY Origami Heart Bookmark, and find another fun craft to create, as well as a hobby to keep you busy when you're bored.    DIY: Origami Heart Bookmark You will need: A4 sheet of pattern/coloured paper Instructions:   1. Divide an A4 sheet of paper into 4, by folding it into 2 halves, twice. 2. Cut out one square. Use this square to trace the shape on your printed pattern paper. 3.
