5 Fun Facts – Nitro Circus


It's Nitro Circus Week at Sugar Bay and we've gone all out and extravagant to bring an all extreme sports event to camp!

For those of you wondering what Nitro Circus is about…

Nitro Circus is an "action sport collective" led by Travis Pastrana, featuring his friends and him traveling around the world riding dirt bikes, base jumping, and performing stunts. It has spawned a tour, a second television series based on the tour, and a 3D feature film.

Here are 5 fun facts about Nitro Circus: 

1. Nitro Circus started off as a television show

Nitro Circus started off in 2006 as a miniseries on FUEL TV. It soon grew into a reality television show on MTV that featured people performing various dangerous stunts in 2009. 

2. Nitro Circus was transformed into a 3D motion picture 

  
Due to the popular demand, the television show was turned into a 3D motion picture for maximum enjoyment of stunts and effects. Nitro Circus: The Movie 3D was released in August 2012. 

3. Nitro Circus has also been turned into a reality television show 

 
Following the leader of Nitro Circus, Travis Pastrana, a reality television show called Nitro Circus Live was created. The show also follows the Nitro Circus crew as they perform live all around the world.

4. Travis Pastrana is usually the first to attempt any stunt



Travis Pastrana, who is the Ringleader of the Nitro Circus Crew, is usually the first to attempt any stunt involving dirt bikes or BMX bikes. Travis is a pro FMX rider, rally car driver, and former NASCAR driver.

5. Jolene Van Vugt holds many Guinness World Records

Female star of Nitro Circus, Jolene Van Vugt, aka “Nitro Girl”, is the first CMRC Women’s Canadian Motocross National Champion, first female to backflip a full-sized dirt bike, holder of multiple Guinness World Records, and co-star of many motocross/stunt videos.
