Nitro Circus week – Xtreme Motorcycle Exhibit

    Our campers are having an adrenaline-filled experience this Nitro Circus week at Sugar Bay. On 26 August 2016 (Thursday), our campers were treated to an extreme sports expedition complete with 360 degree bike rollovers and 3.5 meter high undercut ledges, from the Le Riche brothers.    Brent, also known as “ One-Wheel- l e-Riche ”, and Bruce, also known as “ One-Hip-Wonde r”, never ceased to entertain the crowd. The audience were at the edge of their seats and full of fascination as the brothers exhibited some enthralling tricks with their motorcycles.    The setup and atmosphere was absolutely incredible and had our whole camp embracing the outdoors on a sunshine-filled afternoon. Campers received an in depth breakdown on body position, techniques, approach, line reading and the theory behind the science of extreme motorcycling. It's Nitro Circus Week at Sugar Bay and we've gone all out and extravagant to bring an all extreme sports event to camp! For those of you wondering what Nitro Circus is about… Nitro Circus is an "action sport collective" led by Travis Pastrana, featuring his friends and him traveling around the world riding dirt bikes, base jumping, and performing stunts. It has spawned a tour, a second television series based on the tour, and a 3D feature film. Here are 5 fun facts about Nitro Circus:  1. Nitro Circus started off as a television show Nitro Circus started off in 2006 as a miniseries on FUEL TV. It soon grew into a reality television show on MTV that featured people performing various dangerous stunts in 2009.  2. And because we are hosting Japan week at Sugar Bay, and having a few specialized Arts & Crafts classes based on origami, we have decided to share a very simple start to the art of paper folding with you.    Try out this quick and easy DIY Origami Heart Bookmark, and find another fun craft to create, as well as a hobby to keep you busy when you're bored.    DIY: Origami Heart Bookmark You will need: A4 sheet of pattern/coloured paper Instructions:   1. We are loving Japan week at Sugar Bay. Especially the Japanese culture which comes alive with their unique and creative cuisine.    One of the greatest Japanese delicacies are indeed sushi. We got out our funky fans, our daring dragons and our scrumptious sushi, and now all that's left is to enjoy every moment of the Japanese cultural experience. Slimer is back and slimier than ever in the new Ghostbusters movie.  Although a villain, slimer is actually quite a popular and much loved spooky character in both the Ghostbusters installments.    Inspired by our Ghostbuster themed holiday camp, and by slimer of course, we have decided to share this super slimy glow-in-the-dark slime recipe. Hopefully many of you will be creating your own Slimers at home.    DIY: Glow-in-the-Dark Slime You will need (for 2 small jars of slime): 1 Bottle of Clear or Blue Gel Glue 1 Cup of Warm water 2-3 Tablespoons of Glow-in-the-dark Paint Neon Green Food Coloring 2 Teaspoons of Detergent Booster or Liquid Starch 1/3 Cup of Warm water Step 1: Mix together the glue and the 1 cup of warm water.    Step 2: Stir in the paint and food coloring.    Step 3: In a separate small bowl mix together the 1/3 cup warm water and ...
