DIY: Glow-in-the-Dark Slime

Slimer is back and slimier than ever in the new Ghostbusters movie.

Although a villain, slimer is actually quite a popular and much loved spooky character in both the Ghostbusters installments.

Inspired by our Ghostbuster themed holiday camp, and by slimer of course, we have decided to share this super slimy glow-in-the-dark slime recipe.

Hopefully many of you will be creating your own Slimers at home.

DIY: Glow-in-the-Dark Slime

You will need (for 2 small jars of slime):

  • 1 Bottle of Clear or Blue Gel Glue
  • 1 Cup of Warm water
  • 2-3 Tablespoons of Glow-in-the-dark Paint
  • Neon Green Food Coloring
  • 2 Teaspoons of Detergent Booster or Liquid Starch
  • 1/3 Cup of Warm water
Step 1:

Mix together the glue and the 1 cup of warm water.

Step 2:

Stir in the paint and food coloring.

Step 3:

In a separate small bowl mix together the 1/3 cup warm water and 2 teaspoons of detergent booster or liquid starch. Stir until the detergent booster or liquid starch is dissolved.

Step 4:

Now add about 2 tablespoons of the detergent booster or liquid starch solution to the glue solution. Stir continuously while adding the solution.

N.B. The more detergent booster or liquid starch solution you add, the stiffer the slime will be. So if you want the slim to be more runny, then don't add too much.

Step 5:

You can add more green food coloring while stirring these solutions together to get your desired color of slime.

By now, your slime should start sticking together, and that's when you know…
You have created your own Glow-in-the-dark slime and can go ahead and create Slimer!
