DIY Guy Fieri Decadent Dessert

 

A three course meal wouldn't be the same without a decadent dessert. And, a dessert wouldn't be decadent without chocolate!

In celebration of the theme, we have decided to share three, exclusive gourmet recipes from all around the world, from the food man himself, Guy Fieri for you to try out as a three course meal. 

 
 
Inspired by Mexico Day... Here's a Mexican-inspired dessert that will dazzle your tongue as it deliciously melts and adds a sweet sensation to your entire mouth.

Mexican-Inspired Dessert: Chocolate Tacos – By Guy Fieri

 

Ingredients:

  • 4 egg whites
  • 3/4 cup superfine sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Pinch salt
  • 1/2 stick butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pint salted caramel ice cream, slightly thawed
  • 8 ounces dark semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted in a double boiler
  • 1/2 cup roasted pecans, chopped

Directions:

  1. Beat the egg whites and sugar with a whisk until light and fluffy in a medium bowl, 3 to 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in the flour, salt, butter, heavy cream and vanilla extract until combined.
  3. Preheat a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Spoon out 2 tablespoons of the batter into the non-stick pan.
  4. Using a small offset spatula, spread the batter into an even pancake, 4 to 5 centimetres in diameter.
  5. Cook on the first side until golden brown at the edges, 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Flip and cook until golden brown, about 1 more minute.
  7. Remove from the pan and immediately rest and hang on the handle of a wooden spoon, creating the taco.
  8. Set aside until set, about 5 minutes. Repeat with remaining batter.
  9. Dip the tacos in the melted chocolate and allow to sit on the wooden spoon. If making ahead of time, refrigerate until needed.
  10. Fill with the softened ice cream and garnish with chopped pecans.
