5 Facts you didn't know about Adventure Time

Adventure Time week is what's on our agenda at Sugar Bay this Sunday. We are so excited and cannot wait for camp to transform into the land of Ooo. Our campers will be going on an adventure with us and with Finn and Jake too. We're going to have so much fun and play so many games with lots of cool Adventure Time things for us to do.

Adventure time is pretty awesome... that's why we decided to kick off the first school holidays with this theme.

But before choosing this theme, we had to research it, and you'll never believe what we found!

Take a look at these 5 Facts which we are certain you never knew about Adventure Time.

1. The title sequence reveals a lot

Just like a detective searching for clues... we found out that all the answers to every adventure Fin and Jake has is actually revealed in the title sequence...
You can hear keyboard typing in the theme song - from Princess Bubblegum's amulet hanging on the tree to nuclear bombs scattered around, if you look and listen carefully, you will find it.

2. You can hear keyboard typing in the theme song

Pendleton Ward, the creator of Adventure Time recorded a second version of the theme with a ukulele instead of a guitar to send to Cartoon Network with the titles for approval. This recording was only supposed to be temporary, but the series creator explained to Art of the Title that that didn't happen:
If you listen carefully to the recording, you can actually hear Derek Drymon (former executive producer) typing on a keyboard in the bit when Jake is walking … a little clickity clack in that wide shot when his legs are stretched out ... Later, we tried re-recording it and I didn’t like it … I only liked the temp one.”
3. Finn is most likely inspired by Bueno the Bear

Finn has a pretty strong resemblance to one of Pendleton Ward's early web comic creations, Bueno the Bear. Besides the overall look of the characters, the two seem to share personality traits as well, as displayed by their sick beat boxing.

4. BMO is genderless and is Pendleton Ward's favourite characters

Yes, if you are observant, you'd notice that Fin and Jake refer to BMO as a male in some episodes, and as a female in others.

5. Planet Earth is turning into Ooo

Adventure Time's land of Ooo is slowly taking over the world. Besides the usual Adventure Time murals, there is actually a theme park in Thailand which features the cartoon.

See, there is so much more to Adventure Time than what meets the eye. And we can assure you... the Earth really is turning into the land of Ooo. This can be proven when you head over to Sugar Bay this week and join us for some Adventure Time Mayhem in our very own land of Ooo!

What time is it?

It's Adventure Time!
