Get to know – Javelin

He's the boy Avril Lavigne sings about in her smash hit Skater Boy and he is exclusive to Sugar Bay camp...
His name: 

 


Javelin is our very own skater boy who is days away from celebrating his second anniversary working here at Sugar Bay as a camp counselor.
We don't mean to brag or anything, but he is no ordinary counselor... he has earned his way to become a Sugar Bay Pro Counselor (PC).
Although he loves skating, Jav is also a great lover of the ocean. If he isn't skating, he would be doing sea swim. When we asked him why, he said that it's because you'll never know what's coming your way. Unpredictable much, we do however wonder how he'd react if a great white shark decided to come along and chill with him during sea swim. LOL!
When we asked Jav about his role as counselor, he was quick to answer “Being a camp counselor is not just work to me, working with kids is my passion – it's an opportunity to change someone's life.”

Javelin loves Sugar Bay and says that the best part of his job is meeting someone for the first time when camp begins, and ending camp knowing that he has made a new friend.

We also asked Mister Jav how he would describe himself using 3 words and “Humble, Selfless and Comical” is what slipped off his tongue.
We wrapped up our chat with Jav by asking him:
“If you weren't answering these questions right here, right now, where and what would you be doing?”
His response:
“I would be in the cabin, with the kids, entertaining the kids who aren't sleeping. I'm very entertaining!”
And he wasn't joking when he said he's very entertaining, as even the monkeys joined in and were very amused by our conversation with the Skater Boy.
