Adventure Time DIY – BMO Phone Pocket

 

Just like the creator of Adventure Time, Pendleton Ward, we love BMO!

Or Beemo rather, which is how Finn and Jake pronounce and spell this adorable little gaming box's name.

Inspired by our Adventure Time themed camp, and Beemo of course, we have decided to show you ho to create a BMO Phone Pocket which you can place your phone in and leave at home before camp begins, so we can begin our very own adventure with you at Sugar Bay.
You will need:
  • Black Felt
  • Light Blue Felt
  • Medium Blue Felt
  • Dark Blue Felt
  • Lime Green Felt
  • Yellow Felt
  • Red Felt
  • Ruler
  • Black Cotton Thread
  • Fabric Glue
  • Needle
  • Scissors
  • Water Soluble Marking Pen
  • One Button
Method:
1. Measure both sides of your phone using the medium blue felt. On one side (the back of your phone), add an extra 1 centimetre wider space on each side of the length and one side of the breadth (the bottom piece) to accommodate the glue and then cut out the piece.


2. On the other side (the front side of your phone), add an extra 8 centimetres to the length, and an additional 1 centimetre wider space on each side of the length and one side of the breadth (the bottom piece) to accommodate the glue and then cut out the piece just as you did with the first piece.

3. Now add glue to the extra one centimeter spaces and fold them in to stick into one another on the inside of the pocket.

4. Using the light blue felt, cut out a BMO screen for the pocket and stick it on the front end.
5. Cut out BMO's eyes with the black felt and stick it onto the screen. Using a needle and black cotton thread, sew on stitches to represent BMO's mouth.

6. Now, use the picture provided above to duplicate BMO's buttons by cutting out the felt in their respective colours to represent their respective shapes and then glue onto your BMO Phone Pocket in their respective areas.

 
7. Place the bottom on the back side of the phone pocket cover. Make a slit on the front extra piece to accommodate the button.
8. Sew on the button to the back of the phone pocket cover.

9. Now place your phone in your BMO Phone Pocket, turn the flap over, and put on the button. 

 

10. Now that BMO is keeping your phone safe at home, you may head over to Sugar Bay for Adventure Time week and have lots of fun with Jake and Finn and the rest of Sugar Bay!

Tip:

You can add a string to the phone pocket in order to make it easy to carry.
