Camp goes beyond building campfires

Not everything your children learn is found in a textbook or on a tablet. Most of life’s greatest lessons are learned from real life experiences itself and are taught at no expense.
Camping is the best teacher that keeps your child away from technology and reels them into the reality of life. Children learn from camp, not just survival skills, but also the value of certain qualities such as courage, confidence, and character.

Camp builds Courage

At camp, we believe in encouraging our campers. This encouragement very quickly grows into a quality that creates a brave child, who is open to trying new things and is courageous enough to never give up.

At Sugar Bay, we offer this activity where our campers jump off a bridge and into a lagoon. This is definitely one of the greatest courage building activities for our campers so that they learn to face whatever challenges thrown their way, fearlessly.

Camp builds Confidence

Our wonderfully trained counselors who boast expertise in child psychology, know and understand that in order for courage to be used to accomplish greater milestones, our campers need to be confident.

At Sugar Bay, we rest assured that our campers are filled with confidence in their minds, in their abilities, and in their individualism from day one. Our dexterous programmer knows just how to incorporate the best ice-breaking activities into the program that builds confidence in our campers and at the same time, wins them a bunch of new friends. What a great way to begin a 7 day holiday indeed. Confident, courageous and curious about the new friends they’ve just met.

Camp builds Character

On the final night of camp, on the eve before our campers head back home, is when each of our camper’s character shines and takes centre stage.

During our final campfire, as we reflect on the week, our campers open up and share all their thoughts, feelings and emotions about how camp has changed their lives. In doing so, they reveal the character they have built from friendships, from challenges, and character from down-to-earth experiences.

We are very proud to say that Sugar Bay offers these diverse experiences which are necessary to develop character, confidence, and courage in our campers. Besides building campfires and making smores, all our Sugar Bay campers go home with qualities that they can’t be taught from an education, but rather learn from real life experiences which we live by, day-to-day, at camp.
