Get to know - Fives

“Hey, hey, hey, give me a high five!” Heard that line before?

Then surely you must have met Fives. 

 

Fives is Sugar Bay’s Kayaking Pro Counselor (PC). Fives has been a counselor at Sugar Bay for 8 months now. He has told us that working at Sugar Bay has been a dream as he was very inspired as a camper because it changed his life and gave him a wonderful reason to pursue a career as a camp counselor. 



Fives favourite activities are kayaking and skating. When we asked him what the best part of his job is, he responded by answering: “Chilling with the kids, chilling at the beach and being crazy weird of course.”

Fives says the kids love him because of his weird attitude, loud personality, and humor which he is not afraid to express. Fives favourite camp meal is actually a dessert… He admits that he is deeply in love with the Peppermint Crisp Tart. Oh dear Fives… Finally admitting his guilty pleasures. LOL!

Describing himself in 3 words, his choices were “fun, crazy weird and trusting”. And that… he certainly is! 



 Fives loves the early mornings and embraces the sunrise because the waves are perfect and he can go kayaking. What an inspiration… He’s a guy who certainly loves what he does here at camp. Fives revealed that he is very inspired by his fellow counselor Sangoma, because he is always working hard and keeping the laughter and smiles up here at camp.

 

Fives says: “If you haven’t been to camp yet, take the leap of faith and come meet us soon. It will certainly be worth your while.”

The best means of keeping them away from their lit screens all the time is by motivating them to participate in engaging activities.
